RAMSGATE ARTS BARGE
Sometimes a chance meeting can lead to something extraordinary.
Back in 2021 I was invited by Kevin and Natasha of the Ramsgate Arts Barge to document their ongoing refurbishment of a 130 year old dutch barge into an art gallery and event/education space. I was drawn by their enthusiasm and vision in trying to create an exciting and alternative art space in Ramsgate harbour as well as the opportunity to push my photography into a different direction. I had the freedom to be creative throughout my visits and we held an exhibition of my work to try and help with the fundraising.
Unfortunately, as the project progressed and the spiralling costs of necessary repair works increased, the Arts Barge could no longer continue.
Some of my favourite images were born out of this project and so it will always be dear to my heart.
